Go green with New Mersey

We're keen about being green. That's why we're working closely with Mersey Travel and the local authority to highlight the many ways you can reach us without needing to take the car.

Not only is it very easy to get here to by foot, by bike or by public transport, it is often quicker, cheaper and more flexible than driving. So whether you are coming for shopping or work we hope you'll find the information provided in this guide handy.

Rail Travel

New Mersey is well served by public transport links with Liverpool South Parkway rail station just one mile away. 

The Merseyrail Northern Line service operates from Liverpool South Parkway providing links to and from Liverpool Central at a peak frequency of four trains per hour in either direction. You can get more information on rail options and plan your journey on Merseyrail.

Further rail services between Liverpool South Parkway and Manchester are available on East Midlands Trains, Northern Rail and First TransPennine Express, at a peak frequency of four trains per hour to Manchester Oxford Road via Warrington Central and two trains per hour to Manchester Piccadilly. So if you're arriving from further afield visit National Rail

Walking and Cycling

As well as saving you money, walking and cycling are easy ways for people of all ages to be more active and improve their health and fitness levels.

New Mersey has excellent footway and cycle links to the site as shown on the map below, making walking and cycling the ideal choice to burn calories.

Bicycle stands are available and bikes can be rented for use from designated City Bike stations close to the site and the Bike & Go station within Liverpool South Parkway. You can find out more on the City Bike Liverpool website. Travel Wise also have plenty more information for cyclists.

  • Car

    New Mersey is situated on the A561 Speke Road, just 7 miles south of Liverpool city centre between Garston and Speke.  It is within easy reach of the M57, M56 and M62 motorways and close to John Lennon International Airport.

  • Train

    Liverpool South Parkway Interchange is the nearest train station to New Mersey. Full timetables are available at Mersey Rail or National Rail

  • Bus

    There are regular bus services between New Mersey and both Runcorn and Liverpool City Centre, with the Arriva 82, 82A and 82D offering a half-hourly service stopping on the main road immediately outside the centre.

Facilities

Cash machines are located next to O2. There is also a cash machine within Marks & Spencer.

We have nearly 1,850 free parking spaces, including bays for disabled customers and parent & child.

We are proud that our car park has been issued the Park Mark, an award given by the Police to car parks that have achieved the standards of the Safer Parking Scheme, designed to reduce crime in car parks.

Toilet facilities are located in the following stores: B&Q, McDonalds, Pizza Hut and Marks & Spencer. Baby changing facilities are located in the following stores: B&Q, McDonalds, Pizza Hut and Marks & Spencer.

We operate a safe child scheme through which, in conjunction with our stores, we aim to reunite any lost child with their parents or guardian. Please contact any store or security guard for assistance.
